Kelly Hoping for Bowl Victory in New Orleans
Jim Kelly may get his ring after all-well, not quite the way he imagined. The Buffalo Bills’ quarterback will lead a team of NFL Legends against a squad of amateurs in New Orleans at the Cuervo Margarita Bowl on January 25, one day before Super Bowl XXXI, at the Pan American Stadium.
Kelly’s supporting cast will be impressive. Hall of Famer Tony Dorsett and one of Kelly’s old targets, former Bills receiver James Lofton will be joined by Conrad Dobler, Floyd Little, Billy "White Shoes" Johnson, Jim Kiick ,and Rickey Johnson.
The game is for a good cause, it will benefit the Buonconti Fund, a division of the Miami Project To Cure Paralysis.
ESPN2 will broadcast the game later in the day at 8:30 p.m.
Golf and Football Go Together
When you get lots of football players, golf is a good excuse to get together and golf is a good way to raise money for NFL Charities. The NFL Charity Golf Classic is a celebrity golf tournament benefiting NFL Charities. Some of the NFL celebrities: Marion Motley, Dick Butkus, Nick Buonconti, Erik Kramer, Nick Lowery, Dave Brown to name a few.
Celebrity Fans
"Boston Common" star, Anthony Clarke is a big fan of the New England Patriots. Sources tell me he actually offers to pay for his tickets and does! …Country Western singer Larry Gatlin is a "cheesehead"-he loves the Green Bay Packers.
